About Fakhar Zaman

Fakhar Zaman is one of Pakistan’s most explosive and fearless opening batsmen in limited-overs cricket. Born on April 10, 1990, in Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fakhar’s journey from a naval officer to international cricket stardom is as inspiring as his batting. With a strong physique and natural timing, he is known for his ability to dominate bowling attacks from the outset. Fakhar rose to international prominence during the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, where he smashed a stunning 114 against India in the final—becoming the first Pakistani to score a century in an ICC final. That innings cemented his place in history and set the tone for his ODI career. Since then, he has continued to deliver match-winning performances, including a remarkable double century (210) against Zimbabwe* in 2018, becoming the first Pakistani to achieve the feat in ODIs. He holds numerous records, including the fastest 1,000 runs in ODIs for Pakistan and multiple centuries in high-pressure chases. Fakhar’s aggressive intent at the top of the order often provides the foundation for Pakistan’s success in white-ball cricket. In T20Is and the PSL, Fakhar plays for Lahore Qalandars, where he remains a fan favorite. His style—brash yet calculated—makes him a dangerous asset in powerplays. Though not a regular in the Test format, his contributions in ODIs and T20Is are invaluable. Off the field, Fakhar remains grounded and grateful for his military background, which he credits for instilling discipline and resilience. Known for his humble demeanor and patriotic spirit, he is admired both by fans and teammates. Fakhar continues to evolve as a cricketer, and with his fearless mindset, he remains one of Pakistan’s key match-winners in major tournaments.
