About Imad Wasim

Imad Wasim is one of Pakistan’s most impactful T20 all-rounders, known for his calm temperament, tidy left-arm spin, and ability to finish games with the bat. Born on December 18, 1988, in Swansea, Wales, Imad moved to Pakistan at a young age and emerged through domestic cricket as a promising spin-bowling all-rounder. He made his international debut in 2015 and quickly became a regular in the T20I and ODI squads. Imad’s bowling is characterized by his accuracy, variation in pace, and effectiveness in the powerplay—often opening the bowling and keeping run rates in check. His miserly economy rate and knack for early breakthroughs make him a vital asset in limited-overs formats. Imad played a central role in Pakistan’s rise to No. 1 in T20I rankings between 2016 and 2018. He was also part of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy-winning squad, where he contributed with both ball and bat. His finishing abilities were displayed in numerous matches where he guided Pakistan home in tight run chases. As captain of Karachi Kings in the PSL, Imad led from the front with a cool head and match-winning performances. His leadership culminated in Karachi Kings’ first PSL title in 2020. Off the field, Imad is respected for his calm demeanor and professionalism. Despite sporadic appearances in the national side due to selection dynamics, Imad remains a top-tier T20 specialist, playing in leagues across the globe. His recent resurgence has sparked discussions about his reintegration into Pakistan’s T20 plans. With over 1,000 runs and 50+ wickets in T20Is, Imad continues to be a dependable all-rounder who brings balance and experience to any squad he is part of.
