About Jonty Jenner
Jonty Jenner, wearing jersey number 8, is one of the most accomplished and stylish right-handed batsmen in Jersey’s cricketing history. A naturally gifted stroke-maker, Jenner plays a key role at the top of the order and has represented Jersey in numerous ICC tournaments with notable success. His poise, classical technique, and ability to score across all formats make him a fan favorite and one of the standout performers among Associate nations.
Having spent time in the UK playing county second XI cricket and even making a one-off List A appearance for Sussex, Jenner brings experience and professionalism to the Jersey side. His exposure to high-quality opposition has refined his game, evident in his consistent performances in T20 and one-day internationals for Jersey. He was particularly dominant during the ICC T20 World Cup Europe Qualifiers, scoring fifties against strong bowling attacks from Germany and Italy.
Jenner’s strength lies in his timing and placement rather than brute force. He is especially effective through the off-side and is known for his composure under pressure. He has also adapted his game to suit T20 cricket, adding innovation and urgency to his repertoire while retaining his classical base.
Although primarily a batsman, Jenner occasionally contributes in the field with sharp catches and athletic saves. Off the field, he is a mentor to younger Jersey cricketers, often working with youth programs to develop future talent. His professionalism and experience from playing in England have raised the bar within the Jersey camp, and his presence remains vital as Jersey continues to challenge higher-ranked Associate sides.
