About Julius Sumerauer
Julius Sumerauer, jersey number 33, is one of Jersey’s leading pace bowlers, renowned for his speed, bounce, and aggression with the new ball. A central figure in Jersey’s bowling attack, Sumerauer has been instrumental in delivering early breakthroughs and building pressure during crucial ICC tournaments, including the World Cup Challenge League and T20 World Cup Europe Qualifiers.
Standing tall and athletic, Sumerauer hits the deck hard and generates sharp bounce on even placid surfaces. His ability to swing the ball at pace makes him a potent threat in both red-ball and white-ball cricket. He often opens the bowling and is trusted to bowl key overs at the death, thanks to his skill in executing yorkers and slower deliveries. One of his standout performances came against Uganda, where he picked up a match-winning 4-wicket haul, showcasing his control and match temperament.
Although primarily a bowler, Sumerauer is also a capable lower-order batsman. He has produced late cameos to help Jersey push their total or chase down targets. His fielding is another asset—agile, quick to the ball, and known for his direct-hit run-outs.
Off the field, Julius plays an active role in fitness and strength development programs within Jersey cricket. His dedication, work ethic, and passion for fast bowling make him a role model for aspiring pacers in the island nation.
