Born on August 28, 1983, in Galle, Malinga revolutionized limited-overs bowling with his unique round-arm action, toe-crushing yorkers, and unmatched death-overs expertise. He made his international debut in 2004 and quickly earned a reputation for being a nightmare for batsmen. Malinga made his Test debut in 2004 and his ODI debut in 2004, but it was in T20Is and ODIs where he achieved legendary status. He was the first bowler to take four wickets in four consecutive balls in a World Cup match (against South Africa in 2007).
