About Lega Siaka
Lega Siaka, born December 21, 1992, is an explosive top-order batsman and a handy off-spinner for Papua New Guinea. Donning jersey number 77, Siaka’s aggressive batting style has made him a fan favorite and a cornerstone of PNG’s limited-overs setup.
Siaka made headlines during the 2014 ICC World Cup Qualifier when he scored the first-ever century for PNG in a One Day International. His attacking intent and fluent stroke play allow him to dominate bowlers, particularly in the powerplay overs. Siaka has also consistently delivered match-winning performances, including several fifties in international T20s and ODIs.
In addition to his batting, Siaka contributes with the ball as a part-time off-spinner. He is also a sharp fielder, known for taking reflex catches and affecting run-outs. His all-round abilities provide balance to the PNG lineup.
Off the field, Siaka has been instrumental in promoting cricket in remote areas of Papua New Guinea. He often takes part in grassroots cricket clinics and development programs. His rise from modest beginnings to international cricket has inspired many young cricketers in the Pacific region.
