About Mohammab Nabi

Mohammad Nabi is one of the pioneers of Afghanistan cricket, renowned for his all-round brilliance, leadership, and veteran presence. Born on January 1, 1985, in Logar Province, Nabi moved to Pakistan during his early years due to war, where he developed his cricketing skills before joining Afghanistan’s fledgling cricket setup. He made his international debut in 2009 and was among the key architects of Afghanistan's rise from Division 5 to full ICC membership. As an off-spinner and explosive lower-order batsman, Nabi has contributed in all formats. In ODIs, he has scored over 3,000 runs and taken more than 150 wickets. His knack for breaking partnerships and finishing games with the bat made him a crucial player for Afghanistan in multiple ICC tournaments. Nabi has played in several global T20 leagues—IPL (Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians), BBL, CPL, and PSL—where his control with the ball and big-hitting abilities have been in high demand. He was the No.1 ranked T20I all-rounder for several years and continues to be a top performer in franchise cricket. As a captain, he has led Afghanistan through several transformative phases, including their 2015 and 2019 World Cup campaigns. His experience, calmness, and mentorship to younger players like Rashid Khan have been invaluable to Afghanistan’s cricketing culture. Off the field, Nabi is admired for his humility and patriotic spirit. He actively supports Afghan causes and remains a positive influence both at home and abroad. He shares his journey and family moments through Instagram (@mohammadnabi007), where fans follow his life beyond the pitch.
