About Shannon Gabriel
Shannon Gabriel, born April 28, 1988, in Trinidad and Tobago, is a right-arm fast bowler known for his raw pace, bounce, and aggressive bowling. Standing tall and delivering from a high release point, Gabriel is one of the fastest West Indies bowlers of his generation.
He made his Test debut in 2012 and quickly became a key figure in the Windies pace attack. Gabriel has produced several match-winning performances in Test cricket, including a remarkable 13-wicket haul (5/59 & 8/62) against Sri Lanka in 2018, which ranks among the best bowling displays in West Indies Test history.
While more dominant in red-ball cricket, Gabriel has featured in ODIs as well, though his primary impact remains in the longest format. His partnership with Kemar Roach has been vital in reviving West Indies' pace legacy in Test cricket.
Off the field, Gabriel is reserved but fiercely committed to fitness and performance. Despite injuries throughout his career, he has shown resilience and continues to be a spearhead for West Indies’ pace unit.
