About Taskin Ahmed
Taskin Ahmed, born on April 3, 1995, in Dhaka, is one of Bangladesh’s premier fast bowlers known for his pace, aggression, and athleticism. Wearing jersey number 3, Taskin has emerged as a key figure in Bangladesh's bowling attack, especially in ODIs and T20Is, providing much-needed firepower and energy.
Taskin made his ODI debut in 2014 against India and made an immediate impact with a five-wicket haul, becoming the first Bangladeshi to achieve this feat on debut. His ability to bowl at speeds exceeding 145 km/h quickly caught attention and brought a new dimension to Bangladesh's pace department. Over the years, he has developed greater control, variation, and stamina, becoming a more complete bowler.
He was instrumental in Bangladesh's famous ODI series wins over India, South Africa, and Pakistan and has played key roles in global tournaments. Though injuries and inconsistency temporarily stalled his progress, Taskin worked hard to regain form and fitness. His comeback in 2021 and 2022 saw him leading the pace attack with maturity, including notable performances in the T20 World Cup and away series against South Africa.
Off the field, Taskin is known for his humble attitude and work ethic. With his athletic fielding, improved batting, and ever-improving bowling, Taskin remains a vital asset in Bangladesh’s white-ball plans.
